Hello everyone,
I've been playing around with LE 7.0.2 and Kodi 16.1 a while now on the S905 C2 as some of you know.
Codesnake gave me access to the Hub's required Firmware and I plugged in what LE and Kodi work I already had and came up with this:
+ 5.1 AC3 / DTS Passthrough
+ 5.1 / 7.1 True HD and DTS-HD MA/HRA Passthrough confirmed working.
+ PCM Multichannel (>2.0) confirmed working in <a href="http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=280406&pid=2361951#pid2361951"> hdmkv's review</a>
+ Fixed Interlaced DVD playback with YADIFx2 full motion - Software deinterlacing for 480i/576i mpeg2 content.
= Faster mpeg2 SD TV channel switching as well ! (hint set 720p and above)
+ Fixed 720 / 1080p << -- >> 2160p auto refresh and resolution switching / scaling problem.
+ Fixed problematic HEVC playback with certain video clips.
+ 3D MVC ISO playback (Half Res.) is working, thanks to Koying's and Popcornmix's code.
+ VC-1 Bluray video playback improvements
+ Davilla's (MrMC) MySQL configurator added - moved from advancedsettings.xml to the Kodi GUI
+ Custom performance patches and added Kodi tweaks, too many to mention.
+ ARM64 modded LibreELEC Addons working out of the box.
+ PVR's Client Addons, pre-compiled and included (Settings > MyAddons)
+ The Hub's IR remote is now working
-- Broken at the moment are WiFi and BT drivers (currently under final testing)
~ Yet to be added by the LE AML Kernel devs is HDMI-CEC remote control.
I would also like to get LIRC up and running for comprehensive IR remote control support.
The unexpected surprise is you can playback 10bit DolbyVision video clips. DolbyVision Hardware is actually needed for both the display and media player for the full monty DB video extravaganza. The AML S905 has none of that.
The Hub is also packing an upgraded AML Revision C. S905 SoC that noticeably improves video decoding of some 10bit video content.
